What’s included in the Installation?

Vetted’s Implementation team has over a century of combined experience installing in state highway systems, county roadways, and some of the most stringent installation locations in the US. Our team can work with you through the requirements and hurdles in implementing these conditions.

Vetted Site Surveys

The Vetted Sales Team will hand off the pre-sale site survey to the Vetted Regional Director responsible for the territory. That site survey will contain a legend and individual site plan for each proposed location. Examples of that Site Survey are included below:

 In-Person Final Site Survey

The Vetted Regional Director will schedule personnel for a final on-site walk to confirm all pre-site survey information and power availability where applicable. If new pole installations are required, the site will be flagged, and locates will be called.

Installations fees may include the following:

·         Final In Person Site Survey

·         Flagging / 811 Locates

·         Installation of 16’ frangible pole w/ camera(s), battery backup, and top mount solar unit mounted.

·         Installation of the camera(s), battery backup, and side mount solar panel on existing pole.

·         Installation of the camera(s), equipment enclosure, and whip for AC plugin power

o   Please note, Vetted installation technicians must coordinate with local ECs in most installation locations. Vetted personnel cannot make any AC connections or drill/bore material other than dirt, grass, loose gravel (or other non-diggable material). The proposal does not include electrical work requiring a licensed electrician unless explicitly stated as Subcontracted Labor – Electrical Installation.

·         Installation of equipment needing standard technician truck and ladder.

·         Standard MUTCD traffic control procedures. This does not include the maintenance of the traffic plan submitted as part of the proposal.

·         Business license to operate in the installation location.

 

Additional fees may apply for some of the following but are not limited to. 

Installations fees DO NOT (unless explicitly stated) include the following:

·         Contracted EC labor for AC connections

·         Providing 120VAC power to the pole if indicated power is available.

·         Step downs associated with AC power conversions

·         NCHRP 350 or MASH approved Pole (as may be required by DOT / Permitting Entities)

·         Bucket Truck (if required for installation, additional fees required)

·         Site-Specific engineered plans

·         Third-Party provided traffic control

·         MOT Plans

·         Custom engineered drawings or calculations. These include wind load, structural, snow, and ice calculations.

·         Private utility search for private items not included in 811 locate services.

·         Bringing any existing infrastructure in compliance with local code at the time of implementation

·         Any fees or costs associated with filing for required City, County, or State permits. These include any MOU or RLA cost.

 

If any of these are not in line with expectations throughout Pre Sale-Process, Please bring them to the attention of your Regional Director prior to Installation Start Date.

 

Options not Included in Proposals:

There were quite a few terms above that were referenced as not being part of a standard installation. What are some of the optional items I need to consider in my implementation budget? Below are ESTIMATED costs only; please contact Vetted Sales for formal quotes on any items/costs displayed below:

Poles:

o   Engineered Pole Upgrade – Pole with provided structural, wind, snow, & ice calculations built to FHSA standards

o   MASH Tested Pole Upgrade – Pole provided structural, wind, snow, and ice calculations w/ MASH Testing and built to all FHSA standards.

Engineering Documentation:

o   Engineered Site Plans – starting at $400 per location – Engineering site plans per location.

o   Engineering Calculations – starting at $4,500 – Includes: snow, ice, wind, and structural calculations for equipment installation on existing pole.

o   MOT Plan – Varys greatly based on location; interstate projects as high as $20,000 nightly. On the other side, it is a $0 dollar cost for the agency to supply one or more squad cars as needed, providing traffic blockage necessary for safe installation (where required).

Bucket Truck Rates:

o   Variable based on current market rates for fuel & geographical per diem / labor rates.

Permitting Fees:

o   Variable based on City, County, State, or local permitting entity rates.
